The Fah Kidney Foundation was founded by Samuel Fah who passed away from kidney failure due the poor care he had received while in Cameroon. His family helped care for him in the United States for six years. When Samuel traveled to Cameroon, he received two inadequate dialysis treatments and died shortly thereafter, three days before he was scheduled to return to the United States.
Our founder, Samuel Fah, is just one of the many people who perished too soon because of healthcare gaps in an underserved country. There are several kidney foundations in the United States providing kidney care for those in need, though none yet in Cameroon, a country with a population of approximately 30 million with less than 30 dialysis centers. The existing centers there are too often ill equipped to provide reliable kidney care.
The Fah Kidney Foundation would be the first foundation to ensure proper kidney care for communities across Cameroon and the whole African continent. It would help stop preventable deaths due to kidney disease, all while honoring the legacy of its founder.
